Supo is headed by a Director supported by two Deputy Directors. The Service has nine departments.

Supo employs about 500 people. Various occupational groups are presented, such as police, analysts, IT-experts and translators.
Suojelupoliisi has grown from a small and subdued agency into an international security and intelligence service with a staff of more than four hundred people.
